The company liftarchitects http://www.liftarchitects.com/ did a nice installation consisting of thousands of strings of different length. Together they form a surface of lids creating space.

This tutorial will introduce the concept of arrays or lists and how they can be used to model a lot of geometry at ease and control each element individually based on its relation to another element.

In the end of the tutorial we will introduce more knowledge on the use of formulas and how to extract data for fabrication using the interface to Microsoft excel.
